A North Wales-based firm of accountants has praised Outwrite PR’s digital PR workshops after securing its first ever piece of media coverage.
Harold Smith Chartered Accountants attended one of the workshops, held on behalf of Business Wales, seeking to understand how to enhance its reputation through PR.
Using tips and advice shared by Mold-based Outwrite, it successfully achieved media coverage promoting winning Accountancy firm of the Year Wales at the Acquisition International Finance Awards 2014.
It now plans to draft regular press releases to inform its stakeholders of latest news both internally and within the industry.
Craig Cox, a partner at Harold Smith, said: “I attended the PR workshop with the intention of learning how to earn media coverage about our award win.
“As well as receiving tips and advice to write a press release to accomplish this, it was also an eye-opener with regards to identifying other newsworthy stories.
“This means the business will not miss any future opportunities to achieve media coverage.”
The testimonial from Harold Smith marks a successful end to the series of nine workshops run by Outwrite throughout Wales in 2014, with plans to hold more across the country next year.
Outwrite’s lead digital trainer Anthony Bullick, who is also a columnist for the Daily Post, delivered interactive workshops in Bangor, St Asaph, Mold, Wrexham, Bala and Caerphilly throughout September, October and November.
The seminars inform attendees how to increase their company’s profile off- and online. Topics include how to draft and issue press releases, and integrate social media into the PR activity.
Anthony also shares advice from his time spent writing for the Nottingham Evening Post, operating as a social media journalist at the Rugby League World Cup and his role at Mold-based Outwrite.
Anthony said: “These workshops are designed so that businesses leave with the knowledge and support to identify news within their company, write press releases and ensure the story is seen by its customers.
“It’s fantastic to hear success stories from firms such as Harold Smith who now have the confidence and ability to promote its news to build its reputation as an industry leader.”
