The winners of the 2017 Northern Marketing Awards, in which Outwrite PR had been shortlisted in two categories, have been announced.

And while the agency was pipped at the post in both categories, managing director Tracy North said she was nevertheless proud her team had been selected as finalists alongside teams working for much bigger, UK household-name brands.

The Northern Marketing Awards celebrate the best of the creative industry in the North, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The best food and drink category, in which Outwrite’s work with wholesale buying group Fairway Foodservice had been shortlisted, was won by IRN BRU Extra. Other big name organisations shortlisted were J20 and Bud Light.

The best social media campaign category, for which Outwrite’s Facebook-based recruitment drive for Jones Bros Civil Engineering had been nominated, was won by British Red Cross. The remaining finalists were the Co-Op group and Oxfam.

Tracy said: “These are well-established awards and in 2017 there was a record number of entries. We were really pleased to have reached the finals against such strong competition.

“We’re a small agency, and to be listed alongside much bigger organisations that no doubt have much greater resources, was a great achievement. We were proud to have got as far as we did.”

Outwrite’s clients include housing association Grŵp CynefinWynne Construction, chemicals manufacturer Synthite, and engineering, planning and environmental specialists Caulmert.
