Some of North Wales’ leading business figures are to be hosted by Outwrite’s managing director Tracy North at a top regional event.

As chair of CBI North Wales, Tracy will welcome guests from across the region to its annual dinner on Thursday, 11 May.

The event is a major fixture in the North Wales business calendar, as it offers the chance to network among senior business leaders and discuss the challenges facing the North Wales economy.

And Tracy will play a central role, delivering the chair’s speech, outlining the CBI’s ongoing work as the voice of business in North Wales.

Appointed chair in early 2015, Tracy’s work during her three-year tenure so far includes representing the CBI on the North Wales Business Council, promoting the Northern Powerhouse, and giving interviews to media including the BBC and Daily Post ,about the issues facing businesses in North Wales.

In this role, Tracy also writes a monthly column for the Daily Post’s highly-regarded Business Post section.

Topics have included the A55 and other infrastructure, the Apprenticeship Levy, and predicted skills shortages in the region.

CBI president Paul Drechsler will give one of the evening’s keynote speeches, with Falklands war veteran and charity worker Simon Weston delivering the after-dinner speech.

Tracy said: “The dinner is the biggest event in our calendar, and this year’s is almost sold out.

“The CBI works to promote and protect businesses 24/7, 365 days of the year, and the evening is an opportunity for representatives from member companies to swap notes with the wider North Wales business community”

The black tie event takes place from 7:30pm to 10pm on Thursday 11 May at St David’s Hotel in Ewloe.

It will start with a drinks reception sponsored by Arriva Trains Wales, followed by the dinner, which is supported by Comtek and Horizon Nuclear Power.
