A North Wales PR firm is celebrating two nominations from a prestigious industry body.
Mold-based Outwrite PR has been shortlisted for integrated PR agency of the year, in addition to account manager Cal Behrendt being named as a finalist for young professional of the year by PR Moment for its northern awards.
This adds to the company’s accomplishments across the past 12 months, including securing best small agency of the year in Wales from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), and the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA).
This is also Cal’s third individual achievement, previously winning PR rising star of the year, and outstanding young communicator of the year at the Wales awards for the PRCA and CIPR, respectively.
Cal, who joined Outwrite after previously working as a journalist in Australia, said: “It’s a huge honour to be shortlisted for PR Moment’s young professional of the year and to be recognised for my passion and work in the industry.
“A nomination in this category amongst other talented PR professionals is a fantastic accomplishment and wouldn’t have been possible without the backing of Outwrite.”
Since joining the agency two years ago, Cal has worked on accounts including Hybu Cig Cymru, an industry-led organisation responsible for the promotion of Welsh red meat, Bangor University, and Flintshire County Council.
He also began volunteering on the CIPR Cymru Wales committee at the start of 2023.
Outwrite PR managing director Anthony Bullick, added: “Integrated agency and young professional of the year are two of my favourite categories as they show both the strength of our team and the next generation of the PR industry.
“Integrated PR is one of our agency’s key messages so it’s fantastic to be recognised, especially as we retained 95 per cent of clients which are serviced by more than one PR tactic, illustrating the value of our integrated approach and the fantastic team we have at Outwrite.
“Separately, I want to wish a massive congratulations to Cal for his recognition across three acclaimed PR industry bodies, which sets the scene for ongoing success throughout his career.”
The PR Moment Awards celebrate excellence and reward outstanding campaigns and exceptional talent in the UK PR and communications sector.
The awards ceremony for the north will take place on Tuesday 25 April at the Hilton Deansgate in Manchester.
Outwrite’s clients include construction firm Wynne Construction, Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK, Warrington-based Watsons Solicitors, and mechanical and electrical (M+E) contractor Ash Integrated Services.
The agency specialises in integrated PR, crisis PR, and online reputation management.
