Shaping brand reputations and attracting future prospects was on the agenda at the second instalment of Deeside Business Forum’s Renewable Growth Conference.
The event was held at Deeside Sixth in North Wales, welcoming industry leaders across the clean energy sector to network and start conversations around green growth opportunities in the region.
A key theme throughout the conference was tackling the sector’s skills gap, with Outwrite managing director Anthony Bullick discussing the key part PR and comms plays in this.
The chartered PR practitioner held a key speaking slot in the Alun Theatr as part of a session exploring how organisations can attract, develop, and upskill the next generation of talent to meet the industry’s growth demand.
Attendees had the opportunity to explore a host of exhibitions delivered by organisations across the green energy sector, with Anthony commenting: “It was great to see Deeside Business Forum taking what worked so well at last year’s event and building on it this time around.
“For me, bringing PR to the table when it’s not immediately obvious is always incredibly rewarding, and in this instance, it meant spotlighting the important role it plays within HR.
“This sparked some really interesting conversations and uncovered business opportunities with both new and familiar faces.
“With organisations striving towards cleaner energy sources, it is really important to make sure that brands are positioning themselves as employers of choice and giving themselves the best opportunity to employ the top talent in the sector.”
The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Hall of Fame inductee also formed part of a panel discussion where attendees were given the opportunity to ask questions relating to recruitment, training, and industry communication.
He added: “It was really encouraging to see so many people sharing their thoughts during and after the conference had finished.
“One thing for sure is that the renewable energy sector is heading into a really exciting period, and it’s great to share the part PR and communications will play in what is to come.”
