As the royal wedding approaches and excitement mounts across the nation, tourism chiefs are predicting that the impending nuptials will provide a massive boost to the tourism industry – particularly in north Wales.

After the wedding, Prince William and Kate Middleton will live in north Wales where the prince is serving with the RAF.

This, says tourism body Visit Britain, is expected to have a beneficial impact on the ‘fashionability’ of the region, which attracted 289,000 overseas visitors last year – bringing in £77m in revenue.

Worldwide interest in the royal couple is growing by the day, with journalists from across the globe descending on the region to experience all it has to offer, but crucially, its regal connections.

Our client Plas Dinas Country House has, in the past few weeks, welcomed journalists from the United States, Canada, France and Brazil, all keen to follow in the footsteps of Prince William who visited the hotel for lunch earlier this year.

Plas Dinas already boasts strong Royal connections as Prince William’s late great aunt, Princess Margaret was a regular visitor to the country house during her marriage to Lord Snowdon.

Now a 5-star hotel, the property, at Bontnewydd, near Caernarfon, was the primary residence of the Armstrong-Jones family.

Proprietor-chef Andy Banner-Price said:  “The last few weeks have been very busy with foreign journalists. Some have come for lunch, others have stayed overnight, but all have wanted to see the 400 gun room where Prince William ate his lunch.”
