A North Wales PR agency has launched a guide to provide organisations with advice on how to communicate their environmental, social and governance (ESG) capabilities.
ESG reporting became compulsory for some companies in 2022, and Mold-based Outwrite PR has created a downloadable resource to support them as well as those looking to get ahead of the curve.
Outwrite, which was shortlisted for ESG consultancy of the year in 2022, has taken its experience of producing ESG reports for clients and shared its best practice and key takeaways in the ebook.
An ESG report provides a platform to share data and stories on internal initiatives and is circulated to key stakeholders including investors, politicians and councillors, clients, and employees.
Outwrite account manager Evie Shaw said: “Now more than ever, there’s a greater need for companies to ensure their values align with their stakeholders.
“Historically, ESG reports were solely for organisations seeking investment. However, the shift towards them being used beyond that is something Outwrite was on top of, and we have worked hard to provide guidance on that, which this ebook is the culmination of.
“The climate crisis is quite rightly the big talking point, and there’s a lot of focus on what businesses and individuals are doing to play their part. An important consideration for brands is feeding the social and governance aspects into the PR and marketing mix.
“At Outwrite, we’re passionate about supporting organisations with strategic and tactical guidance and consultancy, and we’re confident our ESG report guide will provide valuable insight.”
Outwrite’s ebook delves into the structure of ESG reports, what to include, how to integrate digital media, how to make the content engaging and maximising reach of the final publication.
Evie added: “ESG might seem like an alien concept, but organisations may find it’s always been a part of the furniture, it’s just likely been referred to as CSR or social value.
“In addition, brands may already have a lot of the content required for an ESG report as a result of a proactive PR and communications approach over the last 12 months.”
Outwrite’s clients include construction firm Wynne Construction, Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK, Warrington-based Watsons Solicitors, and mechanical and electrical (M+E) contractor Ash Integrated Services.
The agency specialises in integrated PR, crisis PR, and online reputation management.
