A North Wales PR agency has helped boost university students’ understanding of the public relations industry and what is required for a career in the sector.

Outwrite PR’s managing director shared professional insight with marketing management undergraduates at the University of Chester, delivering sessions as a guest lecturer.

Anthony Bullick gave separate talks to first and third year students, explaining the role and impact of PR, as well as offering advice to develop relevant experience for securing a role in the industry.

The lectures included examples of the agency’s client work, the skills required for PR, and communicating effectively to stand out in the job market.

Anthony said: “It’s crucial to connect with the next generation of PR professionals to help bring creative ideas into the profession, and it is equally important for them to know what employers are looking for.

“I put a strong emphasis on building a portfolio of work, as well as how vital it is to ‘PR yourself’ by showing employers an interest and passion in the industry.

“It’s incredibly encouraging to speak to students interested in the world of PR and hopefully help them learn more about their career choices and the sector as a whole.”

Outwrite’s clients include construction firm Wynne ConstructionJones Bros Civil Engineering UK, Warrington-based Watsons Solicitors, and mechanical and electrical (M+E) contractor Ash Integrated Services.
