Outwrite contacts in North East Wales are invited to the launch of a free service to support the growth of businesses in the area.

Glyndŵr University and the North Wales branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD) will unveil Epoch, which has been created by the university’s business and management sector, on Thursday 10 October.

The keynote speaker for the event, which starts at 6.30pm, is Ken Skates, Member of the Welsh Government for Clwyd South.

Ken will be joined by Professor Chris Jones, head of business and management at Glyndŵr. He will outline Epoch, which is tailored for businesses in North East Wales.

A spokesman for the university said: “The turbulent business environment of recent years has affected all sectors.

“North East Wales businesses have weathered the recession. Now a new beginning and new circumstances is needed.

“A wealth of business acumen and experience lies along the campus corridors, and we want to throw open our door and demonstrate our Epoch to the business community.”

Helen Watson, chair of IoD North Wales, said: “The service is a fantastic offering to businesses in the region.

“It’s a pleasure to be working alongside Glyndŵr University on the launch of Epoch.”

The service covers business law, marketing, human resource management and financial strategies.  The event will be held at the Catrin Finch Centre from 6.30pm to 9pm.  It will include a free buffet.
