A Mold-based PR agency has been shortlisted for seven awards at the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) Cymru awards.
Outwrite PR has achieved three nominations for its work with clients as well as a further four for its internal achievements, including being announced as a finalist for small PR consultancy of the year.
The success includes two shortlists for best integrated campaign for its work with Ruthin-based Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK on its £32m King’s Dyke level crossing scheme as well as its ‘Explore Flintshire’ campaign for Flintshire County Council to boost tourism and activity in the county post-pandemic.
The integrated ‘Explore Flintshire’ campaign which included a variety of communications such as a podcast series, an interactive e-book, and webinars for local businesses, has also secured a nomination for best public sector campaign.
In addition to nominations for client work, two of the agency’s team have been put forward for individual awards, with the team also shortlisted for best team culture and community award.
Account manager Cal Behrendt is a finalist for PRCA Cymru’s rising star of the year, which is awarded to a practitioner under the age of 30 for outstanding performance early in their career.
He said: ‘It’s a massive honour to have been nominated in this category and to have been recognised to hit the ground running in the industry.
“It’s incredibly motivating to work within a team where there’s no shortage of support, as well as the opportunity to work on a diverse range of campaigns.”
Cal, who worked as a journalist in Australia before joining Outwrite as an account executive has received two promotions in the past 12 months and now works as an account manager where he oversees client relationships.
He added: “It’s fantastic to see our work with Flintshire to produce the campaign get nominated in two categories as it was the first major campaign I worked on when I joined Outwrite.
“The entire account was a joy to take part in and was a brilliant way to not only get familiar with my new home, but the wider industry as well.”
Outwrite’s managing director Anthony Bullick has been shortlisted for professional of the year, which celebrates individuals who have made a significant contribution both in the industry and to their organisation.
He said: “I’m fortunate to have a fantastic team around me. It’s always fantastic to have your peers and fellow PR professionals recognise your work and commitment in this way.
“We took home small PR consultancy of the year last year, and my fingers are crossed the team get to experience that again – they certainly deserve it.”
Outwrite’s clients include construction firm Wynne Construction, Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK, Warrington-based Watsons Solicitors and specialist residential care provider Meddyg Care.
