National radio station, BBC 5 Live, broadcast two sections of its breakfast show live from the training centre run by Ruthin-based civil engineering firm Jones Bros.
Millions of listeners heard commercial manager Ruth Jones interviewed, followed an hour later by interviews with young apprentices Geraint Williams and Stuart Roberts.

Ruth’s comments were also heard a second time, incorporated into a news bulletin.

The broadcasts, on Monday 6 February, took place to mark the start of National Apprenticeship Week.
Ruth highlighted how Jones Bros had been investing in apprenticeships for 40 years. Geraint and Stuart said they benefited from being paid while they learn and having structured careers ahead of them.
