Outwrite team member Jane Jackson is aiming to swim the equivalent of the Irish Channel to raise vital funds for a children’s charity.
Jane, who has been a keen swimmer since childhood, plans to swim 21km (1,400 lengths) at her gym in Chester in just six weeks.
All proceeds will go to Whizz-Kidz, which is dedicated to giving disabled children the chance to lead a more independent life.
The Irish Channel, also known as the North Channel, runs between the north of Ireland and the Mull of Galloway in south western Scotland.
Jane said: “I’ve always enjoyed swimming, and as a mother I admire the work that Whizz-Kidz does.
“It’s a fantastic cause so hopefully I will complete the challenge and raise lots of money in the process.
“Every donation I receive will help to improve the quality of life for disabled children across the country.”
