A North Wales PR agency has been nominated for a series of industry awards highlighting achievements of staff and client work over the past 12 months.

Mold-based Outwrite PR has been shortlisted for five awards at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Cymru PRide awards, which is due to be held virtually on 11 October.

The agency was shortlisted for best small PR consultancy of the year, best public sector campaign, best integrated campaign and best regional campaign of the year.

The campaign was called Explore Flintshire, which Outwrite worked on with Flintshire County Council (FCC) to raise awareness of local businesses and in turn, boost the local economy during the easing of Covid restrictions.

To ensure the most engaging approach was used, bilingual material was utilised across multiple media platforms to reach a wider audience. The agency used an integrated PR strategy which included media relations, organic and paid social media, content marketing, and podcasting.

Account manager Cal Behrendt was also shortlisted for outstanding young communicator of the year, following on from his win of the PR rising star of the year award at the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) Cymru awards.

Cal Behrendt said: “It’s a huge honour to be shortlisted for outstanding young communicator of the year with the CIPR as it is a testament to the quality of the entire Outwrite team, as it’s their support which has a big impact on my day-to-day work.

“I’m also particularly proud of the CIPR’s acknowledgment of the Explore Flintshire campaign, as it was the first account I worked on after joining Outwrite and having relocated to the region for the role, I enjoyed learning about my new home while producing some quality outcomes for the campaign.”

Managing director at Outwrite PR, Anthony Bullick, added: “Being shortlisted for multiple categories at the CIPR awards is a fantastic achievement for the team.

“For Cal to once more be acknowledged for his outstanding work as a young PR professional is also another cause for celebration at Outwrite.

“Recognition from an industry body like the CIPR is a win in itself, as it further showcases the quality of work that Outwrite produces. We are looking forward to finding out the results in at the virtual ceremony in October.”

Outwrite’s clients include construction firm Wynne ConstructionJones Bros Civil Engineering UK, Warrington-based Watsons Solicitors, and one of the UK’s largest rural broadband providers Voneus.
