Outwrite PR narrowly missed out on a top industry title at a UK awards ceremony in London.

The digital PR agency had been shortlisted at the UK Social Media Communications Awards in the best budget category, which for campaigns costing £10,000 or less.

Judges for the awards ceremony selected Outwrite’s work for civil engineering firm Jones Bros, after the agency’s video-based campaign was viewed more than 17,000 times across Facebook and Twitter.

Outwrite’s managing director Tracy North and digital director Anthony Bullick attended the ceremony at the Montcalm MarbleArch, London, although they weren’t called up as winners this time.

The event was one of three awards bodies to shortlist Outwrite’s specialist campaign for Jones Bros,

The campaign had been devised to encourage people of all ages to apply for junior and senior roles at the company.

The campaign has also been shortlisted for a Chartered Institute of Public Relations’ PRide Award and the 2017 Northern Marketing Awards.

Tracy said: “Being shortlisted for a prestigious UK award for the first time was a brilliant achievement. We were proud to have been named alongside household name brands that undoubtedly have many more PR staff.

“It shows that if you have the right staff, a vision, and a willingness to keep on learning and trying new ideas, even a smaller, regional, agency can take on the big players.”

Anthony added: “It goes to show how effective placing engaging content on social media can be.”

Anthony added: “We’re always looking for new and different ways to put together and deliver our social media campaigns. It was so rewarding to be listed as a top agency in the UK.

“Outwrite has been nominated for no fewer than nine awards in 2017. We’re waiting to hear about a number, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed”.

Outwrite’s clients include housing association Grŵp CynefinWynne Construction, chemicals manufacturer Synthite, and engineering, planning and environmental specialists Caulmert.
