Outwrite’s Anthony Bullick offered key insight into sustainable marketing as part of Positive Planet’s podcast series.
The PR agency’s managing director was invited to discuss the need to bridge the skills gap for a greener future by the organisation, which aims to deliver a positive impact on people, the planet, and profits.
Anthony, who was joined on the expert panel by Pickle Consulting’s Paul Randle, delved into driving behavioural change amongst stakeholders, with the conversation also streamed live on LinkedIn.
With a focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting and net zero, topics covered included:
- How ESG has impacted PR/comms and vice-versa
- Where PR/comms fits in to your net zero journey and why it’s critical
- Start from within: internal comms
- What, how, and why should be communicated (externally and internally)
- Strategic considerations
“There’s no escaping the fact that sustainability is a hot topic, and it was fantastic to provide tips and advice on how to illustrate efforts made by businesses in terms of tackling the climate crisis,” said Anthony, one of only 500 chartered PR practitioners in the UK.
“Looking at best practices when it comes to both internal and external communications is crucial to all areas of a business, and that includes the marketing department.”
The 45-minute discussion also investigated the tools, knowledge, and mindset needed to make a difference, as well as:
- Core skills – What is needed?
- How training can impact your role?
- Environmental benefits to your business
- Risks and opportunities
- Greening your supply chain
