Free marketing workshop to boost Denbighshire tourism businesses
Cantata, a €2.2m tourism initiative led by Denbighshire County Council and supported by European funding, has set up a two-part workshop to help local businesses improve their marketing skills.
Cantata Project Officer Peter McDermott said “The workshop will cover all forms of marketing and focus on how to get the best impact from your budget – whatever that may be.
“It will be a very practical and will deliver real tangible results for the businesses involved.”
On the first day of the workshop, Thursday March 4, participants will look at all the forms of tourism marketing and get a real sense of where their money might best be spent.
At the end of that day, the participants go away with the brief of bringing back some concrete marketing proposals. These proposals will be looked at in detail at the follow-up session on Wednesday March 17.
Peter said: “It will be just as relevant and valuable for someone running a small bed and breakfast as for larger hotels and other businesses and it is all completely free for the participants.”
He added: “We will have to limit numbers and offer the places on a first come, first served basis.”
In addition to accommodation providers, Cantata works with a broad range of businesses that come into contact with visitors including shops, taxi firms, restaurants, cafés and bars.
The deadline to apply for places is Monday, February 22. The course will take place from 10am to 3pm on March 4 with a follow-up session from 10am to 1pm on March 17. It will be held at the Whitewaters Hotel, Berwyn Road, Llangollen.
