Shropshire recruitment boss targets revenue growth
A RECRUITMENT boss is aiming to increase revenue at a Telford agency by 30 per cent over the coming year after being promoted. Stuart Danks joined gap personnel’s Telford branch, on Church Street, in 2009 and has progressed through the ranks to become branch manager.
His promotion comes after Stuart generated a surge in gap’s client base during 2011, establishing the privately owned agency as Telford’s leading industrial recruitment specialist.
gap’s Telford team has already secured five new clients since the turn of the year. Its client base now stretches across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Powys.
Stuart, 26, of Shrewsbury, said: “I’m honoured to be made branch manager and am determined to ensure that gap builds on its success over the next year.
“I’m aiming for a 25 to 30 per cent growth rate, which I believe is entirely possible.
“We’re busier than we’ve ever been at this time of year and hopefully that trend will continue. There is strong demand out there among employers for flexible manpower, in what remains an uncertain economic environment.
“gap has earned a reputation for providing quality workers, which in turn has reaped us a loyal client base. My aim is to maintain that quality of service while taking us to the next level.”
gap personnel supplies temporary workers to firms in sectors including manufacturing, warehousing, waste management, recycling and food production.
It is the UK’s eighth largest industrial labour provider, placing up to 5,000 temporary workers per week nationally. Other Midlands branches include Birmingham, Daventry, Northampton and Stoke-on-Trent.
Operations director Mark Roberts said: “Stuart has set himself and the Telford team some ambitious targets, and he is approaching the challenge with typical optimism and enthusiasm.
“He has established a strong team spirit during his time at Telford and is an asset to the company. This promotion is a thoroughly deserved reward for all his hard work.”
Stuart entered the recruitment industry after studying marketing at the University of Bristol.
