Stoke-on-Trent recruitment boss gains promotion
A STOKE-ON-TRENT recruitment boss has been promoted as part of a management reshuffle. Lisa Meredith has been with the Hanley branch of gap personnel for a decade – starting out as receptionist in 2002 and climbing up the ranks to become branch manager in 2007.
Since then she has overseen the steady growth of the branch, which supplies temporary and permanent workers to the likes of Adams Foods in Leek and electrical wholesaler RKW, based in Fenton.
Lisa, 30, of Meir Hay, has now been made area manager within gap’s Midlands division – meaning she will also oversee the Cannock branch.
She said: “I have been with gap for a decade and it’s still an extremely rewarding and challenging place to work. “I am thrilled that my hard work has been rewarded, and am looking forward to repaying the faith shown in me with this promotion.”
gap personnel is the UK’s eighth largest industrial labour provider. The independent, privately-owned agency places up to 5,000 temporary workers per week nationally. Other Midlands branches include Birmingham, Daventry, Northampton and Telford.
Lisa’s promotion follows the decision of long-serving UK operations director Emma Ceballos to take a 12-month sabbatical in order to spend more time with her family.
gap managing director Gary Dewhurst said: “Here at gap we place a strong emphasis on rewarding hard working, talented people by offering them opportunities to progress within the company. “Lisa is a shining example of a dedicated team member who has put her heart and soul into developing her branch. Her efforts deserve to be recognised.”
