gap hires new financial planning manager

INDUSTRIAL recruitment firm gap personnel has welcomed a new financial analysis and planning manager to its head office in Wrexham.

Sarah Hughes joins the finance team at gap’s headquarters on Wrexham Technology Park.
The 32-year-old, of Northwich, was previously UK finance manager at technical recruitment specialist NES.

Her career in finance – which has included stints at Grampian Foods, AppSense and JCB – is backed up by a first class honours degree in accounting and finance.
Sarah, who holds a professional qualification from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), said: “I’m excited to be joining gap, which is a dynamic company that’s really going places.
“I’m confident that my extensive experience in finance and knowledge of the recruitment sector will hold me in good stead in a challenging role.”

Sarah’s first priority will be to set up 2012 budgets across the company, as well as weekly and monthly margin reports.
gap personnel was founded in Wrexham in 1997 and has grown to become the UK’s eight largest industrial labour provider – placing up to 5,000 temporary workers a week and covering more than 1.5m shifts every year.

As well as North Wales, the company operates four thriving regional operations in England – in the North West, Midlands, Yorkshire and South West.
Turnover in 2011 is forecast at £60m – up from £46m in 2010.

Founder and managing director Gary Dewhurst said: “Sarah is a capable and experienced finance professional, and I’m sure she will be an asset to the team as we pursue continued growth in 2012.”
