Debra Greenhouse, PR consultant

Debra Greenhouse, PR consultant Originally from Manchester, Debra moved to North Wales upon starting her journalist career as a junior reporter with the Chester Chronicle.

Through the Chronicle training scheme she qualified in journalism at Thomson Regional Training Centre, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and was later assigned to the Chronicle’s North Wales office, based in Mold.

Having become a senior news reporter covering a wide range of human interest, local business and council stories, she went on to join the Evening Leader newspaper, the flagship paper of NWN Media, first at its then Wrexham headquarters and later moving to its newly established Mold H/Q.

She became chief reporter, sub-editor, features editor and then design editor at the Evening Leader. She was also its Travel Editor for 10 years before leaving in 2006 to move into freelance journalism and PR work.

Debra has specialised in travel and tourism writing and maintains strong contacts within the tourism industry. She has scripted town guides for tourism websites and also carried out website copywriting for a range of leisure organisations. In addition she has worked as a sub-editor on Manchester Evening News and regularly writes features for the Daily Post newspaper, for which she also compiles a weekly food page.

She was for several years North Wales editor for Foulsham Publishers Real Ale Guide and has carried out proof-reading of gardening and leisure books for national publishing firms. Spare time hobbies include walking, swimming, art and travel.
