Legendary sportsman and mountaineer to recall exploits at IoD lunch
Legendary rugby player and mountaineer Richard Parks will recall his exploits climbing the world’s highest summits when he talks to members of the north Wales branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD) next month.
As guest speaker at the IoD’s Christmas lunch, Richard will share his hair-raising experiences, including serious frostbite and a fall down a crevasse.
Former international rugby union player Richard recently made history by becoming the first person to climb the highest summit on each of the world’s continents and stand on all three poles – the North Pole, the South Pole and the summit of Everest in the same calendar year.
Outwrite was recently hired by the IoD in north Wales to promote its various activities including the launch of a new business hub at the Bangor Management Centre.
The facility enables IoD members to benefit from a range of new facilities to help them run their businesses efficiently, including access to a business lounge for meetings with clients or colleagues, free wi-fi, refreshments and free membership of the Bangor University Business Club.
The IoD is the longest standing organisation to serve and support business leaders, with more than100 years of service in raising professional standards.
Members benefit from a range of services including free business advice, a full training programme, research facilities and networking events. The IoD welcomes members at manager level upwards.
Tickets to the Christmas lunch, which takes place between 12noon and 3pm on 2nd December at St George’s Hotel in Llandudno, cost £32.95 for members and £39.95 for non-members. Tables of ten cost £300 for members and £325 for non-members. All prices exclude VAT.
